1:72 scale F-16 kits by Hasegawa ( CG / CJ / D / DJ )

In 2000 Hasegawa added new parts to some of their F-16C/D kits to represent the later Block 30/40/42/50/52 aircraft. Not all F-16C/D kits got these new parts so check below for which kits have which parts. Another addition to some F-16D kits is resin molding of the avionics dorsal spine, seen on some Israeli, Singapore and Greek aircraft as well as the unique USAF VISTA testbed. All kits still have the original parts so earlier versions can still be built from all kits.

Also includes resin parts for the dorsal avionics spine unique to the VISTA (Variable-stability In-flight Simulator Test Aircraft) NF-16D. The VISTA airframe is a Block 30 airframe, heavily modified with the landing gear from the later Block 40s (bulged main landing gear doors, larger main wheels, landing lights moved to the nose gear door) and the dorsal avionics spine from the Israeli Block 40 Peace Marble F-16Ds, now housing special flight control computers.
The VISTA cockpit has been heavily modified, including the addition of a center control stick in the front cockpit. The kit does not depict these cockpit changes . For photos of the VISTA cockpit refer to the F-16 Cockpit Reference section of this website.
During the MATV program a special thrust-vectoring version of the F110-GE engine was installed. After the MATV program the thrust-vectoring engine was removed and both F100-PW and F110-GE engines have been installed at different times. The box art shows an F100-PW engine installed. Check your references for the time period you are modeling to be sure you have the correct engine.

After the MATV program the thrust-vectoring engine was removed and both F100-PW and F110-GE engines have been installed at different times. The box art shows an F100-PW engine installed. Check your references for the time period you are modeling to be sure you have the correct engine. External stores include two AIM-9Js, two AIM-9Ls, two UK BL-755 cluster bombs, two 370 gal wing tanks and a 300 gal centerline tank. New external stores include two AIM-120Bs with LAU-129 MRLs. The VISTA aircraft only carries the centerline fuel tank and AIM-9 shapes on the wingtips, no other external stores are carried.
