1:72 scale F-16 kits by Hasegawa ( A / B / C / N )

For almost twenty years the Hasegawa kit has been the most accurate 1:72 F-16 kit available, only recently challenged by the new-mold F-16 from Revell-Germany (also released by Monogram). The initial releases accurately depict Block 15 F-16A/B production airframes, with larger horizontal stabilizers, correct IFF/UHF antenna locations and various ECM/RHAW lumps and bumps. Later releases include proper updates for Block 25/30/32 F-16C/Ds with NSI (small mouth) inlets. In 2000 Hasegawa released an update that included the correct MCID (big mouth) inlet and other parts to depict the Block 40/42/50/52 series F-16C/D. (see next page) All kits feature ACES II ejection seats, pilot figures, a boarding ladder and a clear (not tinted) canopy that can be positioned open or closed. The intake tunnel is blocked about 15mm back, and an afterburner flame holder ring is included for the exhaust. All versions include an F100-PW exhaust nozzle, and some versions include an F110-GE exhaust nozzle where appropriate (and sometimes where not appropriate!). External stores vary and are described for each release. Panel lines are all finely engraved and fairly accurate.
