  • Although the parts tree shows both canopies included, I have never seen the clear canopy in this kit, only the tinted canopy.

  • One of the markings included in this release is for a Block 10 F-16A. Note Block 10 and earlier aircraft had the smaller horizontal stabilizers, not the larger horizontal stabilizers included in all Hasegawa kits, and Block 10 and earlier aircraft had the lower VHF and IFF antennas in different locations than Block 15 and later aircraft. The box art shows the smaller horizontal stabilizers. While the instructions mention modifying the horizontal stabilizers it makes no mention of the other modifications required to depict a Block 10.

  • Although the box art and markings suggest this is a Block 50 F-16C the kit does not include the bulged main gear doors or any other changes specific to the Block 50/52. The GE engine parts are included but not the corresponding MCID "big mouth" intake.

  • 35 FW, 14 FS, MJ Misawa Japan, USAF SerNo 92-3901, Block 50
Note this kit does not include the correct MCID (large mouth) inlet for these markings.

  • Kit # 06165
  • Series # V105
  • Date Released: 1997.04
  • Parts Tree List: A B C D Es Ec H J K L

  • Description: F-16C Fighting Falcon "Thunderbirds"
  • Out of the box this kit is a Block 30 (NSI/GE) or Block 32 (NSI/PW) F-16C
  • The Thunderbirds moved to the F-16C for the 1993 season. Two minor corrections to this kit: the instructions fail to mention installing the avionics vent (part J1) on the right side of the fuselage; and the ammo loading access panel (part L4) should not have the inlet scoop, it was not present on the Thunderbirds F-16Cs.
  • Do not use the GE F-110 engine parts for these markings. All F-16C/D Thunderbirds were powered by PW F-100 engines with NSI (small mouth) intakes.
  • External stores include two AIM-9s. No external fuel tanks or AIM-120s are included in the Thunderbirds release.

  • USAF Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron, Block 32

  • Note Block 10 and earlier aircraft had the smaller horizontal stabilizers, not the larger horizontal stabilizers included in all Hasegawa kits. However the photo on the box clearly shows large tailplanes on a Block 10 airframe. Check your references!!!
  • Note Block 10 and earlier aircraft had the lower VHF and IFF antennas in different locations than Block 15 and later (all Hasegawa kits)
