1:32 scale F-16 kits by Hasegawa
The Hasegawa kit was the first 1:32 F-16 kit released, and was promptly named Model of the Year by Scale Modeler magazine (October 1978 issue). The kit has a mixture of raised and engraved panel lines, and is much more detailed than the Revell kit. The two-piece canopy has the correct "bubble" cross-section shape, and can be built open to show off the detailed cockpit. The gun bay can be shown open to reveal the M-61 gun, and the radome can be positioned open to show the APG-66 radar. Intake trunking goes all the way back to the turbine inlet face.

Later releases of the kit include new parts for the F-16C, GE engines, correct ACES II seat, and updated stores. All Hasegawa 1:32 kits are NSI "small mouth inlet" kits, the MCID was never offered.
