Computer Database Models

Two of the models I built while working at Rediffusion were a KC-130 Hercules tanker model for the USMC CH-53E simulator, and a T-45 Goshawk for the USN T-45TS. While C-130s have been flying since the 1950s, I built this model of the T-45 about two years before the first flight of the real Goshawk.

Both of these models were constructed of planar polygons with a cellular priority structure (i.e. this was not a Z-buffered system). These pictures show both the wireframe polygonal model and several rendered pictures. Keep in mind that these were running on a real-time (50 Hz update rate) system in the mid-80s on multi-million dollars computer image generators.
