We never followed up with y'all about the Austin Chronicle Music Poll.
First, thank you ALL for voting for me. I know I am the luckiest
singer/songwriter on the planet, even if no one knows it but us...shhh...our secret...I
didn't win anything, but my name sure popped up everywhere! THANKS TO YOU!
Anyway, here's the results from that:
#2 in Best Songwriter
(after Bob Schneider)
Musician of the Year---#6
Best Cover Art---Spiritual Appliances was #3
(after Bob Schneider and Guy Forsythe)
Best Producer---I was #7...
and the only woman...cool!
Best Acoustic Guitar---#3
(someday I hope to win this one...I don't know why...I just think it would be cool)
Best Songwriter---#3...
after Bob and Slaid Cleaves...this was an honor!
Album of the Year---#11
Best Pop Band (!?)---#7, me!
Tee -hee, go figure!
Best Folk Act---#3...
After the wonderful Terri Hendrix and Slaid...

My mural for the YMCA in Dallas will be finished after next week...if
you ever happen to be near Gaston and Garland Road in Dallas, stop in and
see it! It is six giant eight foot tall kids running "off " the wall...my friend,
Alice, helped paint and keep me company...and she was a great painter, too!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, there are *no more* ONE FLOWER TO THE LEFT cds... thanks to everyone who got one...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lastly, for my fortieth birthday (which will be in two years), I would like
to return to Romania with a huge shipment of items for the children I plan on
visiting. I figure if I start talking about it now, I will have a TON of
things. Here's a short list of needs:
Diapers
Wipes
Shoes/Socks/Underpants (infants to teen)
Baby bottles
Art supplies (paper/markers/crayons)
Clothing
Jackets
Sweaters
Toothbrushes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope to see you out there in the world!
Sending love and banana nut bread your way today and everyday,
Sara "Kadoodles" Hickman
