| Here is a close-up of the interior from the left side. The new instrument panel can be seen in this view, and the black fabric around the monitor continues up to cover the headliner. A new console/pedestal was made to cover all of the wiring and linkage in that area, and the floor and kickpanels were upholstered in the same gray as the bulkhead behind the seats. The original Beechcraft Sundowner data plate is mounted on the pedestal below the instrument panel. The instrument panels outboard of each control yoke allow the pilot to select the displayed view direction. The panels directly in front of each yoke control the instruments (IFR/VFR) displayed on the monitor, as well as the ability to pause and reset the simulation. The center panel controls the engine start, parking brakes, exterior lights, landing gear, flaps, throttle, communication frequency inputs, ATC messages and volume control. Once the simulation is started, the entire simulator is designed to be operated from the instrument panel - no keyboard or mouse inputs are required. |
