| I built the computer specifically for this task - a 300MHz Intel Celeron CPU (overclocked to 450MHz) on an Abit BH6 motherboard with 64MB SD-RAM, (remember this was in 1997) a 4.3 GB hard drive, a Canopus Pure 3D (Voodoo II) 3D video card, a Sound Blaster sound card, CD-ROM drive, and an EPIC-D interface card. The tower case has three cooling fans to ensure adequate airflow, and an extra hole was "added" to the front of the case for one of the fans. The zip-drive was used to load patches onto the system. None of this would have been possible without the EPIC card to interface the controls and switches to the simulation software (Flight Unlimited III by Looking Glass). |
