This picture is really busy, so I'll try to explain what you're looking at.
This is a picture of the main control yoke of the aircraft (this is
what the hand-held yokes connect to, linked together via chain-drive).
The rudder pedal on the left is the right pedal for the left seat and
the pedal on the right is the left pedal for the right seat.
OK, are you oriented now?
A slider-crank is attached to the back of the yoke and to the lower left part of the chain drive to read roll inputs. A four-bar link is mounted on the right side of the vertical yoke shaft to read pitch inputs. Another four-bar link (not visible) is connected to the rudder pedal cross-shafts under the floor to read yaw inputs. A final linkage for the throttle lever is visible at the center left of the photo. Micro-switches are installed on all four of the rudder pedals to detect the operation of the toe brakes. Also visible is the group of cable connectors that eventually run back to the EPIC card in the computer. |
